  1. Co-discovered July 22, 1995 by Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp

  2. Closest approach to Earth was 120 million miles (March 22, 1997)

  3. Rate of speed (then) was nearly 97,000 mph relative to the sun

  4. Yellowish tail is dust grains being spewed at 400 metric tons per SECOND
    plus an additional 90 metric tons of water per second

  5. Blue tail is ionized CO2

  6. Nucleus is approximately 18 miles wide

  7. It will return in about 2400 years
